The BMS / Contromation group of companies have executed design, contruction, and operation projects in the Coal Industry for more than 20 years.
Our success in Asia through BMS/Contromation has ensured we have successfully executed projects with most major coal producers in Indonesia during this time
Our success in Australia through subsidiary Pasific Coal Technology with all projects deploying the PCT designed Baum JIG and Dense media processing modules, with installations still running following 20 years of operation. |

Coal Training and Operations (Indonesia) |
|
The Group offer operations and maintenance contracts to clients who prefer to contract out these activities. The teams operate to ISO and NOSA international standards and guarantee clients a seamless hand-over from commissioning into production.
Most Projects involving Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of these facilities include requirement for training and operational assintance. Depending on the complexity of the plant and the skill level of the operational personnel determines the level and duration of this training and assistance.
For the Bontang Coal Project which we completed in 1999, this training/assistance went for almost 2 years. This started out whith expatriate personnel to oversee the operation and maintenance of the facility, then to having our Indonesian National Engineers for training and fault finding and then to our national supervisors to assist with the maintenance of the plant. We have carried out a number of expansions of this facility in the past 10 years and with each expansion training and operational assistance was provided. We also provide a call out service to this facility in case problems arise which the clients engineers are unable to solve. If the problem cannot be sorted out over the phone we despatch our engineers to site and can generally be on site within 24 hours. This service has been utilised by the client a number of times since the plant was first commissioned.
We also completed a project for Bukit Asam (Indonesian Coal Board) at Tanjun Enim which required our engineers to be on site for 12 months to train and maintenance on personnel.
In the past 7 years Coal Projects where we have provided training and operational assistance include the following; |

We strongly support the client's involvement at project commencement, as well as the client's continued involvement throughout the project's execution |
Project Management of Engineering Process |
At the heart of any success story is a regimented approach to the structure of systems and the management of change.
To this end the company places great importance on keeping abreast with international standards and has ensured that the companies project management of design process is aligned with the Project Managemen Institutes (PMI), Project Management Base of Knowledges (PMBoK 4th edition).
The various process Knowledge area's have been embraced by company management who in turn have ensured that the companies systems are supplemented with learning tools, ensuring that the relevant knowledge area's are translated into "Self Help" documentation, which allows for employee at all levels, to access and learn, in an environment conducive to each indviduals |
